Introductory Period

The first 90 days of employment is considered a probationary period in which an employee has the opportunity to determine if they are able to perform the required duties, and supervisors are able to review the quality of the work performed. During this period your supervisor will closely observe your attitude, reliability and job performance to ensure that they are in line with our companies’ policies and expectations. If you have questions or concerns regarding any aspect of your job you should not hesitate to speak with your supervisor.

At the completion of the probationary period, you will be given a written performance evaluation along with a 30 day action plan. This process allows the opportunity to correct any weakness that may interfere with an employee’s progress or job performance. Probationary periods may be extended in 30 day increments.

 

Policies and Procedures

 

Customer Service Excellent customer service is our main goal. The quality of the service we provide determines much of our success. A pleasant greeting, smile, helpful attitude and Thank You are the main ingredients of good customer service.
Working Relationships Your attitude toward fellow employees and our supervisor will have much to do with your success and happiness on the job. An attitude of cooperation will overcome most difficult situations.
Hiring of Relatives Before any relative will be hired the supervisor must discuss the implications with the department head. Relatives of a present employee cannot be employed in the same department. Each decision to hire a relative of another employee will be handled individually based on the qualifications of the potential employee and the job title of the current employee. This policy may vary from property to property.
Smoking Employees are prohibited from using any tobacco products while in view of guests. All interior areas of the hotel and certain exterior areas are strictly non-smoking areas.
Employee Cell Phone Use Employees may only use their cell phones during their specified break times and meal periods. Cell phones are not allowed at the front desk, on the floors, or in guest rooms while an employee is on the clock.
Drug and Alcohol Policy In our effort to continue to maintain a strong commitment to a safe, healthy and productive work environment for all employees and our guests, we prohibit the following behaviors: the use, consumption, manufacturing, distribution and/or sale of illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia on company premises, in company supplied vehicles or during working hours; and being under the influence of illegal drugs, alcohol or any other unauthorized controlled substance on company premises, in company vehicles or during working hours. Employees that test positive for drugs are subject to disciplinary action that could include termination.
Safety Policy It is policy to provide a safe work environment for all employees. Employees are required to follow safe work practices and precautions while on duty. Being careful and following the proper procedures in doing your job will help avoid injury to you and other employees. Employees who incur a work related injury are required to submit a drug screen within 24 hours of the incident.
Fair Treatment Policy As an employee, you are entitled to equal employment opportunities in all aspects of the conditions and privileges of employment, hiring, training, compensation, benefits, transfers, promotions, discipline and terminations without regard to age, race, sex, color, religion, national origin, creed, veteran status, or disability. We also provide the same nonbiased treatment to all of our hotel guests.Hospitality Management Solutions, Inc., is committed to open communication between employees and management. Employees are able to deal directly with management in solving their problems and resolving complaints.

Harassment Policy It is our intention that all employees work in an environment free from all forms of discriminatory treatment including harassment.Harassment is defined as any unwelcome behavior, either, physical, verbal, and/or written or visual, which creates an intimidating, hostile or offensive work environment. Any unwelcome sexual advances, offensive comments, literature or the like will not be tolerated. Any employee that feels they are subject to harassment should see their immediate supervisor or another member of the management staff to report the issue.
Job Security Your employment with the company is based upon job performance, mutual satisfaction and respect. We follow a process of regular employee performance reviews to determine the continued suitability of our employees in their positions.There may be times when business requirements and economic conditions require that employees are laid off, demoted or transferred. In time of work force reduction normally those last hired would be the first to be laid off except where documented performance problems dictate otherwise.
Code of Ethics Hospitality Management Solutions, Inc. maintains that all operations of our corporation and hotels will be conducted with honesty and integrity. Providing false information, stealing or any other ethically or morally questionable conduct will not be tolerated by the management or staff of our organization. If an employee witnesses such conduct, it should be brought to the attention of the management staff immediately.
Employee Conduct Policy These employee conduct rules are placed in written form for the benefit of you and your fellow employees so that all employees will receive the same fair treatment. Every employee reflects the company. For this reason, the highest standards should be followed in performing your job responsibilities. In addition to providing courteous treatment to the guest, you should also be courteous and friendly to your fellow coworkers.
